Flights

We have you covered with flights direct or connecting flights from each capital city across Australia to Hobart.

There are four airlines that fly to Hobart - Qantas, Virgin Australia and Jetstar. Flights are just over an hour’s flight from Melbourne and less than two hours from Sydney. Hobart city centre is just 15 minutes (17kms) from the airport.

Airport transfers via shuttle bus, taxi, coach, chauffeured car or limousine are reasonably priced and readily available. Delegates can also travel daily from Melbourne to Devonport on the Spirit of Tasmania ferries with their car (and then drive to Hobart – 3hrs 30min) providing the perfect opportunity for pre and post touring.

Boasting spectacular views of Sullivans cove, nestled at the end of Brooke Street Pier positioned on the water’s edge with access to an exclusive deck floating off the edge.

Waterline Bar and Eatery is focused on fresh, locally sourced produce with the intention to share, all cantered around an intimate open kitchen and a welcoming sense of theatre.

Their cooking techniques touch on fermentation, smoking, curing, preserving, fire licked meats, seafood, and vegetables. for getting together, for sharing… or maybe not!

But we haven’t forgotten about the cocktails while savouring our fabulous waterfront view. Our barman has some intriguing twists on some old favourites and some exciting new cocktails for you to enjoy.

Day to day, Waterline is filled with floral and greenery arrangements, which makes your styling plan easy. All existing restaurant furniture is included and if the restaurant isn’t big enough our waterside berthing deck offers ample space for larger events.

Hobart Function and Conference Centre is Hobart’s only on-the-water conference centre, located on the scenic Elizabeth St Pier in the heart of the historic Sullivans Cove waterfront precinct.

Featuring six light-filled rooms, in house catering and state-of-the art audiovisual services, the Hobart Function Conference Centre is perfect for boutique conferences, trade shows, seminars and workshops, as well as dinners and cocktail receptions. Seating up to 350 guests banquet-style or cocktail-style for 600, the rooms feature natural light, stunning water views of the Derwent River and access to the pier surrounds.

The Hobart Function and Conference Centre is next door to the Mona Ferry terminal, within a five-minute walk of the city and a range of hotels, apartments, restaurants and bars, including the adjacent Somerset on the Pier Apartment Hotel.

​The venue’s large commercial means anything from morning tea for 10 to full banquet service for up to 350 can be catered for either onsite or at offsite locations.

Sustainability Initiatives:

The 235-room Crowne Plaza Hobart opened its doors in 2020. Since then sustainable innovations and initiatives to reduce its footprint while enhancing the guest experience have remained a key priority. The hotel, part of the IHG Hotels & Resorts group, encourages guests and staff alike to participate in its green initiatives:

  • LED lighting and bamboo keys have been installed, and bulk amenities are provided by sustainable beauty brand Antipodes in tinted glass bottles to eliminate single-use containers
  • 219 solar panels have been installed, reduced energy consumption and carbon emissions. It’s estimated that there will be $30,000 in savings per year and 7% reduction in the annual electricity bill
  • 1,356 guests have opted into the “A Greener Stay” initiative, reducing housekeeping expenses and earning 500 IHG One Rewards points per night
  • Crowne Plaza Hobart has saved 344,049 individual containers by implementing plastic-free amenities
  • The hotel has accomplished several sustainability targets, including a saving of 66.5 tons of CO2 emissions since installing solar panels.

Boasting spectacular views of Sullivans cove, nestled at the end of Brooke Street Pier positioned on the water’s edge with access to an exclusive deck floating off the edge.

Waterline Bar and Eatery is focused on fresh, locally sourced produce with the intention to share, all cantered around an intimate open kitchen and a welcoming sense of theatre.

Their cooking techniques touch on fermentation, smoking, curing, preserving, fire licked meats, seafood, and vegetables. for getting together, for sharing… or maybe not!

But we haven’t forgotten about the cocktails while savouring our fabulous waterfront view. Our barman has some intriguing twists on some old favourites and some exciting new cocktails for you to enjoy.

Day to day, Waterline is filled with floral and greenery arrangements, which makes your styling plan easy. All existing restaurant furniture is included and if the restaurant isn’t big enough our waterside berthing deck offers ample space for larger events.
